Here is our playoffs preview for Class AAAA.

CLASS AAAA PLAYOFF SCHEDULE

#16 Buckhannon-Upshur (2-8) at #1 Morgantown (9-1) – Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

#15 Hedgesville (2-8) at #2 Huntington (8-2) – Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

#14 Parkersburg South (3-7) at #3 Martinsburg (8-2) – Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

#13 Washington (3-7) at #4 Jefferson (6-4) – Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m.

#12 Oak Hill (5-5) at #5 George Washington (8-2) – Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

#11 Woodrow Wilson (5-5) at #6 Wheeling Park (6-4) – Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

#10 Parkersburg (5-5) at #7 University (7-3) – Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

#9 Musselman (4-6) at #8 Spring Mills (6-4) – Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

MATCHUP PREDICTIONS

#16 Buckhannon-Upshur (2-8) at #1 Morgantown (9-1)

The opening round of the West Virginia high school football playoffs will see a classic David vs. Goliath matchup as the Morgantown Mohigans host the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers. Morgantown enters the postseason as the #1 seed in Class AAAA, while Buckhannon-Upshur hopes to play spoiler and extend its season with a massive upset as the #16 seed.

The Mohigans have been dominant on both sides of the ball this fall, riding a balanced offense and a physical defense that thrives on pressure. Quarterback play and a physical offensive line have allowed Morgantown to control nearly every game from start to finish, while the defense has consistently stifled opponents with speed and discipline. Head coach Sean Biser's squad looks poised to make a serious playoff push, and they'll be focused on avoiding any early-round letdowns.

Buckhannon-Upshur, on the other hand, enters the postseason as a clear underdog but one that has shown spurts of success this season.
