Another 2026 prospect who has moved positions this season and is benefiting from it is 2026 Spring Mills EDGE/DL Devin King Devin King 5'8" | 225 lbs | EDGE Spring Mills | 2026 State WV . He’s played primarily middle linebacker in the past, but has given the Cardinals some good reps along the defensive line this season. That position seems to benefit his skill set and size the most, as King has grown a lot through the years. He may lack length, but King’s quickness and power are translating well to his new position. If D2 programs can overlook his length, King can play at that level and would be a steal for D3 schools.

He lacks some length as a linebacker or EDGE prospect, but King’s production can’t be overlooked. He’ll be a defensive leader for the Cardinals and has been consistent when his opportunities have come during his career. King is deserving of D2 looks in our opinion, even without prototypical measurables.

Another underrated linebacker in the 2026 class who can offer a lot of value is Spring Mills’ Devin King Devin King 5'8" | 225 lbs | EDGE Spring Mills | 2026 State WV . Similar to Nash, King lacks length but is developed well physically with quality athleticism as well. We recently saw him the week prior at the GC Exposure Camp, where he had a solid showing, and the same was true at the Fairmont State Elite Camp. King is a work in progress as a coverage linebacker, but he’ll win his fair share of reps in 1-on-1s. He’s worthy of D2 looks heading into his senior year.

He currently ranks as a Top 15 LB in the 2026 class with upside as a potential D2 prospect heading into his senior year. King has a stocky, strong build that he can utilize to knock his man off and redirect his route. He’s a solid athlete who can well vertically with lateral quickness being an area to improve on moving forward. King is another candidate to be a potential EDGE player at the next level with his size and skill set.

2026 Spring Mills LB Devin King Devin King 5'8" | 225 lbs | EDGE Spring Mills | 2026 State WV was deserving of a rankings boost after earning LB MVP honors at our combine event earlier this year. King showed flashes in limited game film from last season due to injury but showed enough to warrant an initial Top 125 ranking in our Winter update. After seeing him in person and with the anticipation of a breakout junior season, King is now firmly inside of the Top 100 and just outside of the Top 75.

If King can continue getting bigger and produce on the field the next two seasons, he’ll have the opportunity to climb even higher as we’ll be watching him closely to back up our high praise.

2026 Spring Mills LB Devin King Devin King 5'8" | 225 lbs | EDGE Spring Mills | 2026 State WV may not have been the highest-ranked linebacker at the Combine, but he came out and proved to be the best LB performer. King was named MVP of the linebacker group by the college coaches teaching and evaluating him and had a great performance during the camp. We didn’t know what to expect from the 5’9 200 rising junior after he missed the majority of his sophomore season with an injury but liked what we saw in the brief film he had available. We took a chance on him from the limited sample size and ranked him as a Top 15 LB in the 2026 class, and King proved the hunch we had about him. He looked the part physically and has the family pedigree to develop even further as a prospect.

If King wasn’t on the radar heading into the event, he surely is now after proving himself among some of the state’s best in attendance and beyond.

The combine will be a great opportunity for 2026 Spring Mills LB Devin King Devin King 5'8" | 225 lbs | EDGE Spring Mills | 2026 State WV who was banged up for most of the 2023 season but showed flashes when healthy that earned him a Top 15 LB ranking in this class. The limited sample size up to this point makes him intriguing yet unknown to this point, but a strong combine performance in front of us in person could quickly change that. King just needs more opportunities to showcase what he can do which makes events like this a great deal for prospects like him. The main question we have for him at the combine will be just showing what he’s capable of and whether can he prove he’s worthy of that Top 15 LB ranking. Sometimes you have to take chances on prospects, especially when they’re younger, who may not have a lot of film but showed potential for what they do have available. King can do just that, and we expect he’ll further show the potential he flashed during his shortened sophomore season.

Another young linebacker who could see more playing time as a junior in 2024 is Spring Mills’ Devin King Devin King 5'8" | 225 lbs | EDGE Spring Mills | 2026 State WV . King saw varsity time this season at linebacker and running back on Spring Mills’ best team in school history. The 5’8 190 sophomore can also be used as a fullback in heavy packages and should see an increased role next season. I thought he provided quality value in the Cardinals’ playoff win over Spring Valley in those roles and he seemed to have gotten more playing time later in the season. A big off-season in the weight room would pay dividends for his progression and it would not surprise me to see him be a full-time starter next season on what should be an even better Spring Mills team.
