Blake Sanders Blake Sanders 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Spring Mills | 2026 State WV had a very good first year in the program for Spring Mills as a junior and should build on his success as a senior. He rushed for over 700 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024 but is capable of eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in 2025. Breaking in a new quarterback this season may have the Cardinals leaning on Sanders more, especially early in the season. He’s a quick and shifty dynamic runner who can break loose on any given carry and should garner D2 interest this season.

2026 Spring Mills RB Blake Sanders Blake Sanders 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Spring Mills | 2026 State WV is a familiar name to people in WV as one of the better running backs in his class. We got to see him in person for the first time in a year, and Sanders still has that high-level quickness that he displays on Friday nights. His 8.5-foot broad jump and 4.5 pro shuttle time proved as much, along with quality straightline speed with a 4.82 40. Sanders was smooth during bag drills, further showcasing that quickness and lateral ability. His build and skill set may even translate well to slot receiver at the next level.

When you think of agility in a running back traits like footwork and quickness are what come to mind first and 2026 Spring Mills RB Blake Sanders Blake Sanders 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Spring Mills | 2026 State WV has both of those. He’s light on his feet and can accelerate to full speed quickly with obvious speed to his game as well. His ability to change direction and cut to different angles is what placed him under the agility section for our perfect running back prospect. Sanders has quick reflexes and reaction time to help evade defenders in the open field and is tough to corral for a single tackler. It’s not rare to find Sanders on the opposite side of the field by the end of his run than where he began as he zig zags through defenses effortlessly.

2026 Spring Mills RB Blake Sanders Blake Sanders 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Spring Mills | 2026 State WV has been a great addition to the Cardinals’ program this season and has provided a spark in their strong running game. They’ve breezed through the early portion of their schedule so far, but Sanders has looked good on film and is showing why he’s ranked as a Top 10 running back in the 2026 class by us.

Sanders is a very quick and speedy scatback who is explosive through the hole with a great burst. Even as a smaller back, Sanders runs hard and doesn’t shy away from contact while providing impressive power behind his pads due to his explosion.

Spring Mills’ Blake Sanders Blake Sanders 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Spring Mills | 2026 State WV was another 2026 running back that we expected to perform well at the Combine and did some good things. Sanders is a quality pass catcher for a running back prospect who was able to show off that side of his game during the event. He was another strong tester who had good numbers during the Combine testing portion of the camp in wet conditions posting a low 4.8 40 and a 4.41 pro shuttle. Sanders is a strong 5’10 165 with a frame to add considerable mass over the next two years.

He’ll be a welcomed addition to the Spring Mills backfield after coming over from Musselman for this upcoming season.

The combine will be a big opportunity for Musselman’s Blake Sanders Blake Sanders 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Spring Mills | 2026 State WV to show what he’s capable of. Sanders currently ranks as a Top 10 running back in the 2026 class, but he has some stiff competition to maintain those high honors. Size is the big question for him as he grows into his frame which will raise his ceiling the more he does. Getting his measurements and testing numbers confirmed will be a big help in determining what his ceiling can be which we believe can be high given his ranking. Our eyes will also be on him during 1-on-1s for how he performs as a pass catcher and potentially as a DB which he is also capable of doing. A move to the defensive side of the ball is possible down the road in our rankings, but for now, Sanders should be one of the top running backs at the combine.
