Rylan Swartz Rylan Swartz 6'3" | 205 lbs | ATH Spring Mills | 2026 State WV has patiently waited for his turn to become the Cardinals’ starting quarterback, and it will finally pay off as a senior this year. He’s of a different mold than graduated QB Max Anderson, but Swartz can put his own spin on the offense. He’s a physically imposing athlete who looks like a tight end playing quarterback, but has the athleticism to be effective as a runner too. Swartz did a nice job at linebacker as a junior and likely projects there or TE at the next level, but don’t overlook his arm talent this season.

returning for his final season in 2024 but can take the reins in 2025 for his senior year. Swartz has the athleticism to help the team in other ways until then and was an All-EPAC performer as a sophomore punter last season. He has great size at 6’3 205 and showed some good things on film in spot duty at quarterback last season when opportunities were available. Swartz’s arm strength was apparent with the ability to stretch the field vertically and can throw with zip on intermediate routes. He also showed he can make plays outside the pocket and can throw accurately on the run while under control. More future opportunities will realize his potential as a prospect with increased reps and is someone who can rise in the rankings with more of a sample size in the next two years.

Swartz has quality size at 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds and is a decent athlete with a 5.1 forty-yard dash time. Quality fundamentals as a quarterback, keeps his eyes down field, and shows the ability to improvise when needed. His accuracy is solid and his arm strength is good as well. Not much sophomore tape is available for Swartz. Also plays baseball as an outfielder and pitcher.
