has been a key presence for Jefferson in the playoffs, anchoring the defensive line with strength and consistent effort. While his size may limit his potential on the offensive line at the next level, his power, athleticism, and technique have made him a disruptive force in the trenches. Waldeck’s performance in these high-pressure games highlights his upside as a potential D2 starter on the defensive front, and he’s shown the ability to impact both the run and pass rush in critical moments.

along the defensive line this season for the Cougars, and love his upside there. It was always going to be an uphill battle for him with his size to play offensive line at the next level, but his frame and skillset would translate well at that spot in college. Waldeck is a very strong and powerful athlete with quality athleticism who could develop into a future starter at defensive line at the D2 level.

Another 2026 Jefferson OL prospect to know this season is
Kip Waldeck

. He’s another offensive lineman for the Cougars who has started since his sophomore year and will be a team leader as a senior. Waldeck has one of the better physiques in the state for linemen, but the biggest question for him as a prospect is whether he can add the necessary size to play offensive line in college. He could likely perform well along the defensive line, where Waldeck has some experience. The ability is there, which we saw firsthand at a camp this summer, and is someone that D2 schools should take a flyer on and figure out where he fits best positionally later.

is an offensive lineman who we’ve liked a lot and is just missing that prototypical size that colleges are looking for. Even so, Waldeck is maximizing his frame as much as he can with an impressively physical build for a lineman prospect. He’s a strong and athletic lineman with good bend and has the physical strength to handle bigger defensive linemen. Which position he ends up at in college will be determined by how much more size he can add, but if he can do while maintaining his current athleticism, Waldeck will prove to be a steal for a D2 or D3 program.

will be a powerful presence in the middle of the Cougars’ offensive line again this season as their center. Waldeck handled those duties as a sophomore in 2023 and should be bigger and stronger as a junior. Waldeck packs a lot of punch in his smaller frame for the position and plays much above his size.
Here’s what we recently said about Waldeck in our 2026 rankings Stock Risers article:
“We got to see 2026 Jefferson OL

in person for the first time at our combine event back in May and liked what we saw after being impressed by his junior highlight tape. The one trait that keeps him lower in the rankings is size at 6’0 230, but we’re betting on him to keep growing as he has the talent to play at the next level. Waldeck utilizes every ounce of his smaller frame that he can and is pound for pound one of the strongest athletes in the 2026 class. Waldeck’s raw strength translates to the football field and is a physically imposing player with good technique and fundamentals who anchors the Cougars’ offensive line at center.”

If Waldeck can continue to grow physically, he’ll be a scholarship-level prospect by the time he’s a senior.

was an undersized offensive line prospect that we liked a lot coming into the Combine and recently ranked during the spring update. He did some good things during the event and in 1-on-1s and confirmed that he’s a very strong athlete for his size and will continue to raise his ceiling the bigger he gets. There isn’t much bad weight on his 6’1 230 frame right now which is especially impressive given he’s only a sophomore. Waldeck is a great leverage player who can consistently beat his man in leverage and has a good understanding of how to use his smaller size and power against bigger bodies.
Once he continues growing physically, Waldeck will likely be a riser in our rankings and may have earned himself a bump in the summer update based on what we saw in person.

will be one of many talented big men in that class competing at the combine, and he recently made his debut in the 2026 rankings as the #22 OL. The only thing keeping him from being higher in the rankings is size, but he proved that doesn’t hold him back from watching his sophomore highlight tape. That’s the main question we have for him heading into the combine and if he can continue to prove his size isn’t a factor against some bigger linemen who will be in attendance. Waldeck can make a steady climb in the rankings with continued physical growth as the other traits were there on film.

is a bit undersized right now but is a young lineman that we liked a lot when watching his sophomore highlight tape. Although he needs to catch up in size, Waldeck is a strong young player for the Cougars who anchored their line last season from his center position. He’s spent quality time in the weight room to this point and his ceiling will continue to rise as he puts on more size. Waldeck handled bigger defensive linemen well last season even when giving up some size and probably surprised them with his physicality and technique. His fundamentals are very good for a young center which gives him a leg up while he continues to fill out over the next two years. I thought he also moved well and has sound footwork for his age at a tough position to play for younger linemen. Waldeck performed well on individual and double-team blocks who could more than hold his own on zero techs last season. His ceiling and ranking will rise as he continues getting bigger as the talent and athletic ability are already there to build around.
