showcased his versatility as an athlete in Huntington’s round one win over Hedgesville. He’s settled in nicely at quarterback this season for the Highlanders and is executing the offense well as he’s gotten more comfortable behind center throughout the season. Wilson hurt the Eagles’ defense with both his arm and his legs in a half of play and will have his team in contention for a state championship this season.

continues to prove why he’s considered the top prospect in our rankings this season for the Highlanders and why he’s our choice as their X-Factor player. After a great season at receiver and linebacker as a junior in 2024, Wilson was pressed into action at quarterback this season and has led his team to the #2 seed and undefeated against WV competition. The Clemson TE commit is an obvious dual-threat at the position and has improved as a passer as the season has gone on. Wilson has thrown for over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns while also rushing for over 500 yards and 8 more scores as a versatile athlete who can do anything on the football field.

was moved from WR to ATH in our 2026 rankings update, and he’ll show the state why this season when he takes over as QB1 for the Highlanders. The Clemson TE commit ranks as our top overall prospect in the 2026 rankings as the premier athlete in West Virginia this season. Wilson has the athletic ability to execute any skill position on both sides of the ball at a high level, but it will be intriguing to watch him as a passer this season with weapons galore around him to utilize. Their ceiling for this season will depend on Wilson’s arm in their trek for a state title.

is beginning to trend towards being labeled an ATH in our rankings after playing all over the field as a junior for Huntington which speaks to his overall athleticism as a prospect. Agility is a good description of one of his best athletic traits as a smooth and versatile athlete that he showcased in many different ways last season. Wilson may end up being QB1 for the Highlanders this season and is committed to Clemson as a TE prospect proving he has P4 athleticism. When watching him play, you can clearly tell that Wilson looks and moves differently than everyone else on the field. He’s a very fluid athlete who’s light on his feet and is impressively agile for an athlete of his size.

showed off his athletic versatility in a big week one win over Hurricane. Wilson saw snaps at quarterback during portions of the game out of necessity and made an impact in a variety of ways to help the Highlanders pull out a hard-fought win over a very talented Redskins team. The #1 ranked 2026 prospect got on the board first with a heads-up fumble recovery on the Hurricane goal line from his own teammate and turned the corner for the touchdown. Wilson also did what he’s best at with a receiving touchdown on a deep corner route. The biggest play of the night however, came on the final play of the game when Wilson crashed the left side of the Hurricane field goal team and got his hands on the potential game-tying attempt to secure the 38-35 victory for Huntington.

. Wilson is well over double-digit D1 offers with 9 of them being from the P4 level as he is well on his way to being a national recruit. He earned the coveted #1 overall rankings in the 2026 class after some shakeup in the state and joins fellow #1 overall prospect in the 2025 class

in the Huighlanders’ skill group. Wilson is just a phenomenal natural athlete with the size that gives him an elite ceiling as a football prospect. You got a glimpse of what he’s capable of as a sophomore and should put an exclamation point on the field this season to cement his ability further.
Wilson can do just about anything athletically but is a natural playmaker on the football field and will be exciting to watch him develop even further over the next two seasons.

was set to be moved up to the #2 prospect in the 2026 class after a very busy past couple of months on the recruiting trail. Wilson picked up FBS offers from Marshall, App State, Toledo, and Bowling Green since our winter rankings update, and although he stayed put at #3 overall, it’s still worth noting his rise in stock as a prospect according to colleges. It’s only a matter of time before he earns his first P4 offer as his name continues to float to bigger programs across the region and country. Ohio State has been in touch with OC/WR coach Brian Hartline stopping by the school and WVU keeping tabs on him. Wilson’s stock is ready to explode sooner rather than later, if not before his junior year, then almost definitely after a likely even bigger breakout season in 2024.
