2029 Huntington QB Marek Midkiff enters the WV Exposure Series with a chance to make an early statement heading into his sophomore season. After spending his freshman year developing on Huntington’s JV team, he now looks poised to compete for the varsity starting job. There was noticeable growth during the 7v7 season compared to his freshman tape that I got to see in person earlier this year. This camp will give him a strong test against a talented quarterback group and should offer a good look at how ready he is for the challenge ahead. If Midkiff rises to the top of the QBs in attendance, we’ll get a glimpse of what’s to come this season and beyond for the young gunslinger.

Huntington Highpoint’s Marek Midkiff continues to trend upward and looks much improved from when we first evaluated him as an incoming freshman a year ago. The 2029 quarterback showed clean footwork and sound mechanics throughout the event, and his arm strength is coming along as he develops physically. He threw with touch, floating catchable balls into his targets’ hands, and operated efficiently in the short and intermediate game with vertical upside as he gets stronger. Midkiff did a nice job distributing the ball to a bevy of playmakers, and his steady growth points to a young passer worth tracking closely over the next three years.
