‘s loyalty to Buckhannon-Upshur should be noted, and his performance against Preston pressed the Buccaneers into the playoffs for the first time since 2016. A smaller Class AAAA certainly allowed that to happen, but Tenney is deserving of being spotlighted for his play during his senior year and career as a whole as our X-Factor pick. He’s rewritten the record book at Buckhannon-Upshur during his career and is an athlete capable of scholarship looks as a QB/ATH prospect.

impressed at the St. Albans GC Exposure Camp two weeks ago and did some good things again today at Fairmont State’s Elite Camp. He ran the fastest among the six quarterbacks in attendance with a 4.72 40, which was the 7th-best time in the camp, regardless of position. Tenney has real upside as an ATH prospect with the athleticism to play receiver or defensive back at the D2 level in my eyes. As a quarterback, though, Tenney was accurate over the middle, with good timing and ball placement that allowed his receivers to make easy catches in stride.

is another underrated quarterback who’s currently lower in our rankings but has a ton of athletic upside. He was another QB who impressed during the combine testing segment of the Exposure Showcase with very good speed in the 40. That translates to dual-threat ability on the field as he continues to develop as a passer. I liked the touch that Tenney threw with on deep balls and when throwing in rhythm over the middle and on short passes. A good senior season this fall should open the door to D2 programs around the state, as Tenney is an athletic option at the position that an offense can scheme around.

earned a top performer spot. He has good measurables and the coaches and I were impressed with his footwork, this 2026 can play at the next level.

Tenney doesn’t have much sophomore film available so again, it’s hard to accurately scout but the glimpses of what we have seen in his available tape is promising. He is on the smaller side at 5-foot-11 and 165-pounds but he shows to have quality arm strength and athleticism with the ability to extend plays with his legs and throw on the run. Does a solid job as well of keeping his eyes downfield.

took over the reins at quarterback for the Buccaneers as a freshman in 2022 and it looks like they have their QB of the future. Tenney’s football IQ must be very advanced to run that type of offense at such a young age and he performed admirably as a freshman. The 5’11 160 rising sophomore is also athletic and you could likely label him as a dual-threat QB. Tenney has good pocket mobility and scrambling ability and showed he can throw on the run accurately but also take off and run if needed. Tenney isn’t tasked with throwing the ball 30 times a game but when he does he throws a good ball and can hit on all three levels of the passing routes. Even when pressure is in his face, Tenney remains calm and doesn’t panic which you love to see in a young QB. The future is bright for this 2026 quarterback and a name to watch for the next three years.
