steps into a big opportunity this season with a new quarterback coming in, and that connection is going to matter early. The 2027 Buckhannon-Upshur WR/DB is a lanky outside target who can really open things up vertically, showing the speed to get behind defenses and the body control to track the ball cleanly downfield. He does a great job finding outside leverage on go routes and fades, and Metzner is comfortable catching the ball over his shoulder without breaking stride. The release off the line is quick, which helps him win early in reps. As Metzner continues to expand his route tree and become more polished underneath, his game can take a noticeable jump in his senior season.
