Greyson Wyland enters his senior season as one of the top returning defenders on Buckhannon-Upshur’s roster after earning a spot among our Top 30 linebackers in the 2027 class. While teammate Kadyn Baisden often garners much of the attention, Wyland has quietly developed into a productive and dependable presence at the second level. He plays with a physical edge, moves well laterally, and has a knack for finding the football. As he looks to cap off his high school career, Wyland has an opportunity to boost his recruiting stock and establish himself as a quality D2 or D3 prospect with another strong season.

While Kadyn Baisden often draws attention at linebacker, Wyland gives Buckhannon-Upshur another quality presence at the second level and has proven he’s a solid player in his own right. He plays with good effort, brings physicality and athleticism to the position, and consistently finds himself around the football. Heading into his senior year, he looks like a prospect worthy of consideration from both D2 and D3 programs.

Wyland showed his ability to impact games on the edge late in the year, particularly with his discipline and physicality against run-heavy looks, finishing the season with performances that reinforced his reliability at outside linebacker. At 5’11, 190 pounds, he has a solid frame that still offers room for continued physical development over the next year and a half. Looking ahead, Wyland’s ability to set the edge, work off blocks, and play with sound contain on both sides of the field positions him as a strong breakout candidate as his responsibilities and consistency continue to grow.

Wyland posted good numbers in the broad jump (8’6″) and the shuttle drill (4.68). Greyson looked good as a downhill linebacker who can fill in gaps and sniff out runs. He steps into gaps quickly while maintaining proper leverage on his opponent and using smart angles to keep RBs from cutting across.

Wyland made some plays at outside linebacker in that game against a tough scheme for linebackers and totaled 10 stops. He has a quality 6’0 205 frame that he can keep developing over the next year and a half. Wyland did a nice job in contain on the outside on both sides of the field against Elkins and was able to get off blocks and stretch plays wide.
