His performance earned him a first team selection and a nice write up below from Oscar:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Herbert Hoover's&nbsp;<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2089302' first='Colton' last='Tawney']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/colton-tawney/"></a>&nbsp;earned the MVP award for the LB group after impressing coaches with a strong showing in the position drills and 1v1s. What stood out the most about Colton was his quickness and range while dropping into coverage. He did a great job reading plays, cutting off routes, and being physical at the catch point. Colton also showed good instincts when playing through the receiver's hands to break up passes. During competition drills, Tawney showed he can cut down running alleys using good angles and corral RBs in open space. [player_tooltip player_id='1701492' first='Gage' last='Spears'] impressed with his testing numbers and overall effort, he deserved a first team selection. Running a solid 40 for 4.78 the 2028 prospect sure made a case to be moved up from the Watch List of the 2028 West Virginia class. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
