earned my pick for DB MVP after blazing through the combine session and putting up good reps in 1v1s. Nathan’s 4.60 40-yard dash (2nd), 4.65 shuttle drills (T-2nd), and 9′ broad jump (T-5th) were all top-five marks among all attendees. This speed and agility translate well to DB drills, where he displays clean footwork and loose hips that allow him to quickly change direction and stick to a receiver’s hip pocket throughout the route. He’s very instinctive in coverage and knows how to leverage himself against receivers. Good closing speed with the ball skills to force turnovers.

. He has the raw athleticism to develop into a future standout on Friday nights for the Mohigans once his number is called upon. Ely may have to wait until his junior year for that with some very talented and older athletes ahead of him, but he’ll be someone you’ll want to keep tabs on over the next three years. It wouldn’t be surprising if he demands touches on varsity this fall with an opening at running back.
