2027 Morgantown DL Chase Travis has put together one of the strongest offseasons of any defensive lineman in the state. After earning DL MVP honors at our Exposure Series event, Travis added offers from WV Wesleyan, Glenville State, Fairmont State, and West Liberty as college programs continue to evaluate his game. He may not fit the prototype from a size standpoint, but Travis is a great reminder that there is more than one way to win in the trenches. His technique, leverage, and relentless motor consistently show up on film and in person, which allows him to play bigger than his measurements. Those traits helped him make a significant jump in the rankings and should continue serving him well heading into his senior season.

2027 DL Chase Travis has been a player we’ve been high on since his freshman year at Morgantown because the production and ability have consistently stood out. Size has always been the main question tied to his projection at the next level, but once the reps start, Travis often finds a way to win. His quickness, effort, and technique should make him a tough matchup during 1-on-1s at the WV Exposure Series. There’s a lot to like about the way he plays the game, and this offseason feels important for showing college programs that the tape and production matter more than measurables alone. If Travis performs the way he’s capable of, some D2 schools may start looking past the size concerns and focus on the football player instead.

2027 Morgantown DL Chase Travis wins with his hands, and it shows up every snap. Travis may not have the ideal size, but his wrestling background gives him a clear edge in how he strikes, controls, and sheds. He keeps his hands active, works moves with purpose, and doesn’t stay blocked for long. Travis gets into the chest of linemen, creates separation, and finds the ball. That hand skill, paired with his leverage and compact strength, allows him to consistently win reps inside.

. Size will be his biggest obstacle as a college prospect, but Travis has the ability and film to earn some scholarship money in the future. If he’s athletic enough to play EDGE in college, his ceiling as a prospect would increase greatly. Travis has that potential to play there as a high effort player with sound technique and fundamentals for a young player over the past two years.

will have an uphill battle as a defensive line prospect due to size, but his ability couldn’t be overlooked with a Top 75 rankings placement. We got eyes on Travis at the Stock Up Showcase where he was right in the mix for DL Top Performers which paired with a strong sophomore debut for the Mohigans’ varsity squad in 2024 earned him a spot in the rankings. He’s a high-effort and tenacious player which likely forced a starting role as an underclassman at a talented program. Travis uses his hands well and is a talented pass rusher who knows how to consistently shed blocks. EDGE is a potential future position for Travis depending on how his body develops over the next two years given his skillset and ability as a pass rusher, which could give him a higher ceiling as a prospect.
