He takes over as our #2 linebacker in the class and could arguably be the top prospect at that position right now. There are some physical limitations with a smaller frame compared to your prototypical linebacker prospect, but King overcomes them with a tough, physical style of play and tenacious mentality.

2028 Morgantown ATH Brooks Kings already holds a rare college offer for a rising sophomore from WV State and should see varsity action this fall for the Mohigans. He’ll be a two-sport standout in time, doubling as a baseball prospect and can be used on the football field at a few different positions. As he gets bigger, linebacker feels like his best position in the future, but King also has the athleticism to stick as a safety hybrid type of player, depending on how his body develops. He has a good mind for the game as a young player, which will allow him to see the field on Friday nights sooner rather than later at a program with a lot of athletes to utilize and compete for playing time with.

King showed a knack for the ball as a freshman creating and securing several turnovers. Once his body catches up to his instincts and knowledge of the game, King’s game will keep leveling up.

I liked what I saw out of King before the showcase and he proved me right by earning a Top Performer slot. Morgantown’s Brooks King was another one ready to go from the start, he competed his tail off. Solid testing numbers, but he was strong during the 1vs1s and individual drills. Impressive recovery speed and hip movement, King made his presence known in Bridgeport.

Hailing from Morgantown, right there in the epicenter of a crazed Mountaineer fanbase, King is Linebacker to keep eyes on over the next four years. A two-sport athlete, he’s also a standout as a Catcher on the baseball diamond. He brings that same toughness and athleticism to the Linebacker position. He has pretty good agility and possesses a powerful core with strong legs, that not only help him spring up out of his Cather’s stance, but also helps him roll through contact when tackling. What’s scary enough, is that King and Colton Roberson Colton Roberson 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Pendleton County | 2028 State WV both played together on the same WV Elite 7v7 team in the spring.
