2028 Morgantown LB Brooks Kings had a breakout sophomore season for the state champion Mohigans and was a top defender for their title team. He takes over as our #2 linebacker in the class and could arguably be the top prospect at that position right now. There are some physical limitations with a smaller frame compared to your prototypical linebacker prospect, but King overcomes them with a tough, physical style of play and tenacious mentality.

Doddridge County's [player_tooltip player_id='1222034' first='Jacob' last='Britton'] moves up to our #1 defensive lineman in the class after another strong season for the Bulldogs as a sophomore. We got to see him again in person at our recent Stock Up Showcase, where he was once again a Top Performer. Britton is a highly physical player with quality athleticism that will translate well as he adds more size over the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221550' first='Lance' last='Williams Jr'] had a great sophomore breakout season for Herbert Hoover and remains a top receiver prospect in the 2028 class. Further physical development will elevate his game even further, but the natural playmaking ability, athleticism, and understanding of the position are already apparent when watching his film. We expect Williams Jr. to continue progressing over the next two years and further increase his ranking.

2028 Martinsburg LB/EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1624380' first='Kemar' last='Green'] made a varsity impact in his sophomore year, as we expected from his initial high ranking last summer. He played a lot of EDGE/Defensive End for the Bulldogs this season, but we believe his frame is better suited as an OLB prospect at the next level, pending physical growth. Developing his hands and pass-rush techniques will benefit his game further and level up his play, but Green has a solid foundation to build on as a promising prospect.

2028 South Charleston EDGE/TE [player_tooltip player_id='1700973' first='Miles' last='Terry'] took the step forward that we expected from him in his sophomore season and earned All-MSAC honors as a result. He did a nice job on both sides of the ball for the Black Eagles and has upside at both positions, but his 6'2 230 frame suggests a bright future as an EDGE player. Working on bend, flexibility, and pass rush techniques will level up Terry's game even further.

The University Hawks had a plethora of options in their passing game, but 2028 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1545676' first='Branden' last='Custer'] still forced his way into the fold as a sophomore. We could see he had a bright future as a freshman and should be an even higher impact player in 2026, and especially as a senior in 2027. Custer has a good mind and early technique for the position, with athletic traits that will allow him to develop into a top receiver in this class by his senior year.

Another promising 2028 receiver prospect who did a nice job as a sophomore is Point Pleasant's [player_tooltip player_id='1311020' first='Isaiah' last='Waminan']. It was a tough overall year for the Big Blacks, but Waminan was a bright spot and a young player that they can build around moving forward. His ceiling is higher than his current ranking, and you can see his exciting potential when watching his film. Wamainan's ball skills and contested catch ability jump out on film, two great early signs for his future as a prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1624454' first='Georgie' last='Mamakos'] made another large impact on varsity in his sophomore season for the Linsly Cadets and remains a top defensive back in the 2028 class. He totaled 60 tackles, 3 PBUs, and an interception on defense, while adding offense to his skill set with just under 300 rushing yards and 4 scores. Mamakos is fast and physical to the ball and does a great job of breaking down in space as a reliable tackler. He's a smart football player with a good understanding of the game and DB position that allows him to overcome some physical limitations.
