had a great sophomore breakout season for Herbert Hoover and remains a top receiver prospect in the 2028 class. Further physical development will elevate his game even further, but the natural playmaking ability, athleticism, and understanding of the position are already apparent when watching his film. We expect Williams Jr. to continue progressing over the next two years and further increase his ranking.

. We’re expecting him to see an increased role on offense as a sophomore, as an athlete with a lot of upside and potential.
Here’s what we recently said about Williams Jr in our 2028 Rankings Debut article:

to produce more game film, but expect him to begin to emerge as a sophomore for the Huskies this season. He’s been a standout on the 7-on-7 circuit this summer, and we’re anxious to see how it translates to Friday nights beginning this fall. Williams Jr has displayed impressive route-running ability this summer during 7-on-7, with the speed and quickness to create consistent separation. As his body develops and matures further, he should be able to become a top receiver prospect in this class once he proves it on Friday nights.”

, but the freshman earned some playing time in year one at the high school level for the state runner-up Huskies. He’s still filling out physically but has clear athletic ability that forced his way onto the field at the varsity level as a freshman. From the limited film we’ve gotten from Williams Jr, he’s light on his feet and plays well in space with YAC playmaking potential. He had a strong showing at the recent PA Elite 7on7 tournament and should take a big step forward on Friday nights as a sophomore.

Without question one of the most advanced route runners I’ve come across in this West Virginia 2028 class. Right now he appears to have average height (no official measurements), but watching him put his foot in the ground and break off a slant or a comeback is a thing of beauty. He comes with the speed and agility to be an instant threat on the outside. Above in the Quarterback section, I wrote about

and all the success West Side Middle School had this past season–well, guess who his go-to Wide Receiver was on the Kanawha County championship-winning team was. Williams Jr. will be off to Herbert Hoover High School this fall and I expect him to turn heads early.

– It took about two plays in the film to realize that Williams Jr. was the go-to target for quarterback Peyton Grigaby (listed above)
– Together, the duo helped lead West Side Middle School (Charleston) to the Kanawha County Middle School Championship this past season
– I really like what I see on his film below and other clips, that I’ve seen. Not sure of exact size, but he looks long and lean. Is an obvious downfield threat with when looking for the deep ball, but also has the quickness to take the edge on jet sweeps.
