Walker has an elite first step, firing out of his stance with quickness that most offensive linemen struggle to match. He stays low through that initial burst and immediately puts tackles in recovery mode. Walker’s ability to redirect and move laterally only adds to the pressure, allowing him to stay on track even when linemen try to adjust. That get-off sets the tone for everything he does and makes him a constant threat off the edge.

He’ll need to keep developing his body to have the necessary size to play traditional DL at the next level, but Walker showed he has the athleticism and technique for a young player in person. We’re expecting him to produce for the Huskies this fall and put more on tape for colleges as a junior.

2027 Capital DL Jay’Sean Walker Jay’Sean Walker 6'0" | 215 lbs | DL Herbert Hoover | 2027 State WV was someone I wasn’t very familiar with before Saturday’s showcase, but he impressed during 1-on-1s. He was explosive when firing off the line and had quick hands, which kept offensive linemen uncomfortable. Walker was able to redirect easily mid-rush and had his man guessing which way he would go at times throughout 1-on-1s. He also has power to utilize as a bull rusher and was able to utilize that trait at the beginning of his rush before working a move. Walker was light on his feet and had great short-area quickness for an all-around impressive performance.
