has been a welcome addition to the Huskies’ program this season and is making an immediate impact. He’s making a big impact on both sides of the ball this year and has shown that he can be a playmaker on offense at receiver more as a junior. Hampton still has a high ceiling as a DB prospect, but he’s giving colleges another spot to give serious consideration to offering him for this year.

Another huge transfer pickup for this season for the Huskies is our #1-ranked defensive back in the 2027 class,

. He was a productive two-year player for Hurricane and will now finish out his career at Herbert Hoover, giving them another weapon to utilize on both sides of the ball. Hampton has D1 potential in our eyes, as his older brother, Shalik, signed with Mercyhurst this past signing day. Hampton can affect the outcome of the game in all three phases of the game, and is a plus athlete who can be used in a variety of ways.

Here’s what we recently said about Hampton in our 2027 Top 10 Debut article:

debuts as our initial #1 DB in the class. Hampton has the family pedigree to develop into a high-ceiling prospect with older brother Shalik being a top-ranked 2025 DL with D1 offers. He has the speed and quickness to stick to receivers in man coverage and did so as a freshman on varsity on a talented Redskins team. Hampton attacks the ball like a veteran and played above his size and age for a young DB last season while showing no hesitation in his first year at the high school level.”

If Hampton can continue to get bigger and keep progressing each year, he has P4 potential and is a definite future D1 prospect.

. You don’t often see freshmen starting at corner, especially at the big school level, but Hampton did so for a reason. He comes from an athletic family where older brother Shalik is ranked in the 2025 Top 10 and #2 DL in his class. Little brother isn’t quite as big at 5’10 165 but is just as athletic with a very bright future. Hampton totaled 28 tackles and an interception during his freshman campaign for the Redskins, and I expect him to receive D1 interest in the future just like his older brother has. He has early athletic traits to build around showing good pursuit and recovery speed and can chase down runners from behind. You could leave Hampton on an island in man coverage as a freshman which speaks volumes to his ability at an early age. He didn’t play the position like a freshman and wasn’t someone you could pick on because of being green at the high school level. I expect big things from him over the next three years and would consider him a future D1 prospect.
