If West Virginia Had a 2026 NFL Draft: The Second Round

So what would it look like if we did the same thing in West Virginia? Two teams, Team Gold and Team Blue, in a two-round Snake Draft to determine the best ultimate high school team in WV. </p>   <p>Instead of rankings, this is a full two-round mock draft with a snake format, building two complete teams from the ground up. Every pick matters. Quarterbacks, linemen, playmakers, and depth all come into play as each roster takes shape. Lewis is an imposing 6'4 205 target on the outside with the frame and athleticism to create mismatches. His ability to also contribute at safety or linebacker gives Team Gold flexibility, adding a long, physical athlete they can use in multiple ways.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>PICK #34 - TEAM BLUE</strong></h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1306758' first='Carson' last='Treadway'] - 2027 Independence WR/ATH</h3>   <p>Traits and versatility drive this pick early in the second round. Treadway brings size and athleticism that translate well at receiver, giving Team Blue another weapon on the outside. Roberts projects well at outside linebacker with the athleticism to run and cover, even without elite size. Carrillo projects well in the secondary at either corner or safety, with the movement skills to cover and make plays on the ball. Noble brings a 6'3 250 frame with the ability to play inside or on the edge, holding up well against the run and setting the edge. Grinter has experience at every spot up front and projects well inside at guard or center with his wide frame and strength. As a physical run blocker and people mover, he gives Team Blue a reliable interior presence who can plug multiple roles.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>PICK #43 - TEAM BLUE</strong></h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1077100' first='Brady' last='Thorn'] - 2028 Parkersburg DB/WR</h3>   <p>Traits and versatility stand out with a young prospect still trending up. Jones already showed high-level play as a sophomore, earning Carl Lee DB of the Year honors, and flashes real range and instincts on the back end. As he continues to add size, Team Gold gets a high-upside safety with proven playmaking ability.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>PICK #45 - TEAM GOLD</strong></h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1309691' first='Malakhi' last='Hope'] - 2028 Herbert Hoover RB</h3>   <p>Strong value on a young playmaker who is still trending up. Hope is one of the top young backs in the state and brings burst and playmaking ability when healthy. After dealing with injuries last season, Team Gold is betting on the upside and adds another weapon to the offense.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>PICK #46 - TEAM BLUE</strong></h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mayshaun Okonkwo - 2028 Huntington RB</h3>   <p>Explosiveness and speed add a different element to the offense here. Okonkwo is a quick, dynamic back who can create in space and turn small openings into big plays. Bland is a downhill linebacker who brings presence between the tackles and plays with strength at the point of attack. Williams can handle both kicking and punting duties at a high level, while also showing athleticism as a running back. Dick is a proven starter at quarterback, but his athletic profile projects well on defense, especially at linebacker.
