. We had the pleasure of watching him in person this summer at our camp, where he was an MVP. He’s been putting in the work this off-season and should take a big step forward as a sophomore after showing a lot of potential his freshman year on varsity.
Here’s what we recently said about Tyson in our 2028 Rankings Debut article:

is on a high upward trajectory as a pass rush prospect for the Cougars. We saw that in person at our Combine Series camp earlier this year, where he earned DL MVP as a freshman. Tyson is ahead of the game compared to most pass rushers with his technique and is quickly and steadily improving. He has quality size and athleticism with good fundamentals at this early stage of his career, to continue to build on over the next three years.”

was the star of the camp among the DL group, which featured some talented and older prospects. Tyson’s early size and athleticism make him a great fit for the EDGE position, where he was a productive player for the Cougars as a freshman this past season. He has the frame to add significant size over the next three years, which will take his already established game to new heights. Tyson is very quick off the edge as a speed rusher with great bend and flexibility to dip under offensive tackles. He does a nice job as a young edge rusher of using his hands, with the ability to add more pass rush moves to his arsenal with continued development.

being one of the more notable ones. Tyson was a talented standup rusher for the Cougars as a freshman and did a nice job creating havoc in the backfield but also keeping edge contain on outside runs. His early body type makes him versatile in being able to execute both duties with quality speed, quickness, and hand use to rush the passer and the size and strength to stop outside runs. Tyson is still just scratching the surface of his future potential but early signs show promise that he’ll develop into a top EDGE prospect in this class.

I love what I’ve seen out of Tyson on film. As football continues to change and some positions around the country get on heaters in terms of popularity, Tyson has opened my eyes as an Edge defender. Not necessarily and Outside Linebacker, but not a Defensive End either. On tape, he’s explosive and strong, which allows him to almost spring into the backfield off the snap. He plays Running Back on the offensive side of the ball and with that, comes excellent feet and quickness. In talking with our WV Prep Hoops counterparts, Tyson plays the same physical and hard-nosed style on the basketball court.
