2029 South Charleston DL Elijah Mason Elijah Mason 5'11" | 255 lbs | DL South Charleston | 2029 State WV made one of the biggest impacts of any freshman in the state last season and earned our Freshman Defensive Player of the Year honors as a result. Mason was highly productive for the Black Eagles and consistently disrupted opposing offenses with his quickness and relentless motor. What stands out most on film is how twitchy he is off the ball, allowing him to create havoc and be a mismatch up front for offensive linemen. Size is the one factor that could ultimately affect his long-term ceiling as a prospect, but it has not prevented him from producing at a high level against varsity competition. D2 programs have already taken notice of his ability, and that interest will continue to grow. With the way he plays and the production he has already posted, expect Mason’s name to remain a familiar one across the state over the next three years.

2029 South Charleston DL Elijah Mason Elijah Mason 5'11" | 255 lbs | DL South Charleston | 2029 State WV earned our PRZ Freshman Defensive Player of the Year after a standout first season for the Black Eagles. He moved around a lot on defense and can play traditional defensive tackle/end, EDGE, and even some linebacker. His 5’10 235 frame will make it interesting to see which spot he eventually settles in at, but Mason can be at the top of this class in the future rankings. He’s a twitchy athlete with good hand use and explosiveness that allows him to move freely mid rush and redirect fluidly to attack the ball.
