2028 South Charleston QB/ATH Ceno Riley is one of their most versatile players after gaining valuable experience over his first two varsity seasons. Thrust into the starting quarterback role as a freshman, Riley showed noticeable growth during his sophomore campaign and continues to develop as a dual-threat playmaker. He could return to lead the Black Eagles at quarterback this fall, but his athleticism also gives the coaching staff flexibility to move him around if needed. Riley is expected to contribute in the secondary as well, where he has the tools to become a standout defensive back.

2028 South Charleston QB Ceno Riley Ceno Riley 5'11" | 150 lbs | QB/ATH South Charleston | 2028 State WV showed promise as a freshman for the Black Eagles when he was pressed into action, and should continue to show that this year as a sophomore. He appears to be their QB1 heading into the season and is another good young piece to build around for the future. His biggest area to continue developing is size to be able to withstand an entire season, as he’s capable of using his legs on offense as well. That will also aid Riley’s arm strength and ability to open up the passing game further, but the potential and upside are evident in his game at this early stage.

He’s another athletic quarterback who also operated the offense quickly while looking like an experienced player. Riley can execute an RPO or traditional option offense and can be a factor in the running game with his legs. We liked what we saw from his two-game sample size of highlights to warrant a spot on the Watch List at this juncture with a promising future ahead for a rebuilding South Charleston program.
