He’s showcased his ability to impact both the running and passing game, including key interceptions and critical stops in high-pressure moments. Kniska’s instincts, athleticism, and leadership have made him a central figure on University’s defense as they advance deeper into the postseason, and his performance is drawing attention from college programs at the next level.

. Kniska had several good runs in the first round of the playoffs against Parkersburg, but his blitz pickup ability and play as a blocker in the Hawks’ explosive passing attack were just as impressive. He had his usual defensive performance as our current #1 LB in the 2026 class, but his unselfish play in the first round and season as a whole was notable.

continues to prove why he’s the top linebacker in the 2026 class and possibly in the state in our eyes through the first four weeks of his senior season. He’s starting to get the recognition he’s always deserved from other media outlets and should see more college opportunities soon if they’re paying attention. Kniska has been a force for the Hawks this season and has elevated his pass coverage ability this year with three interceptions in four games. He plays middle linebacker the way it’s meant to be played in modern days, being highly effective in both the passing and running game.

proved why we consider him the top linebacker prospect in his class in the Hawks’ opening week win over Musselman. Kniska picked off two Applemen passes and totaled 12 tackles and 3 QB hurries in the victory. “Agent Zero” may be the best read and reactor in the state of West Virginia, and he displayed that trait in both pass coverage and run defense in week one. He’s a D1 LB prospect in our eyes and seemingly still goes overlooked in the state as one of the best defenders.

flipped over to LB in the rankings this summer from EDGE, and now sits at #1 at the position. He’s been excellent for the Hawks since his sophomore season and highly productive. Kniska is a heat-seeking missile at middle linebacker and does a great job of reading plays. He flies to the ball and has the athleticism to track down every type of athlete. Kniska has FCS ability in our eyes and is one of the top defenders in the state.

burst onto the scene this season for the University Hawks after coming over from Trinity Christian for his sophomore season. Kniska is a 6’0 200 DE/OLB hybrid type of player right now and had great production for the Hawks this season. He led them in TFLs and sacks totaling 12 and 5 respectively along with 49 tackles and also led Trinity Christian in all three categories as a freshman in 2022. I just got to see Kniska at the Winter Exposure Showcase back in December where he earned Camp MVP honors firmly putting him on my radar before watching his highlight tape. On the field, Kniska is a tenacious player with a high motor and great pursuit. He showed a diverse skillset on film and can rush the passer, support in run defense, and athletic enough to drop into coverage. Even at his current size, Kniska can bull rush with the strength to drive tackles backward but also has the speed and quickness to work a pass rush move. I loved his sophomore tape, and the only question with him moving forward will be how much bigger he can get which will tell you which position he translates best to at the next level.
