is a player with plenty of developmental upside, and this camp should give a good look at where he’s at heading into the offseason. His freshman film at University showed flashes of athleticism and playmaking ability, and now the focus shifts to how much progress he’s made since then. Injuries slowed parts of last season at the JV level, but the raw tools are still there. Wannemacher is a good track athlete with movement skills you can build around, and as he continues adding size and strength, there’s a path for him to become a meaningful contributor at the varsity level as an upperclassman.

. He’ll need to keep developing physically before making a big impact on varsity, but Wannaemacher has the athleticism to become a playmaker for the Hawks on Friday nights in time. He was very productive at both receiver and safety on their freshman team and can align at both the slot and outside receiver on offense. Given his size, Wannemacher’s future is likely in the slot where he can develop into a playmaker on varsity after some patience behind a talented junior and senior skill group.

who was another weapon for their younger team that popped. He was a productive two-way player as a receiver and safety with a very good track & field background to utilize on the football field. Wannemacher showed good play recognition when his quarterback scrambled breaking off his route and finding space for him to find him. He has a natural feel for finding open field during his route and finding gaps in the defense. Wannemacher also has strong potential as a safety prospect and did a nice job playing center field on the back end of their defense resulting in 5 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries with a knack for the ball.
