Wayne Henry Wayne Henry 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB St. Frances Academy | 2026 State MD is a high-IQ, versatile, and physical safety with some serious playmaking instincts. His coverage skills are advanced for his position, and he makes plays that change games. Factor in his playing at St. Frances Academy, and you get a player who has been tested against top competition. The two interceptions that start his highlights, both as pick-sixes, show his ability to quickly diagnose play action and route combinations. Henry is one of the more versatile defensive backs I’ve had a chance to evaluate. He can play in the box and slot, has strong safety, and even blitzes off the edge. Henry’s coverage skills are cornerback-like, and that’s a big compliment for someone who plays safety. He’s a physical player who plays with disciplined aggression and is a reliable tackler. He’s around the 5-9, 5-10 height range, which might be considered small for a safety prospect. However, Henry’s instincts burst, and his ability to disrupt both the run and pass game makes it easy not to get too hung up on that.

Henry is among the loaded DB group at SFA and looks to be next up as a leading DB recruit in his class. He has decent size and plays fast; he flies around in pursuit and keeps his eye on causing a fumble with a stip. He’s not timid at all coming downhill from his safety position and has the ability to defend the pass in man to man. He already has 6 offers, most recently landed the LSU offer. Look for Henry to contribute more this season with this young DB core.

Henry is a DB that fly’s around and does a little of everything in the defensive backfield. He lines up at corner and safety and makes big plays at both positions. He has good speed and always high points the ball on film, when he’s not the first person to the ball he causes turnovers with strips for forced fumbles. Henry currently holds three offers from Penn State, UNC-Charolette, and Michigan State.
