Boys Town’s Jayden Cook Jayden Cook 6'0" | 185 lbs | LB/RB Boys Town | 2028 MD is a very interesting player in this recruiting cycle and one of the hidden gems out of the Omaha area. Jayden had a tremendous junior season in which he was the team’s leading rusher with 107 carries for 804 yards and five touchdowns, as well as second in tackles with 52 total tackles, nine TFLs, a sack, and a fumble recovery. As a runner, Jayden displays great balance and strength in his base, which allows him to break through weak arm tackles. He flashes a great burst as he hits his hole and has the speed to break away once he’s hit the open road. Great vision and subtle cutback ability to hit new lanes. On defense, Jayden is listed as an LB, but I could see him using his athleticism to fill into a versatile LB/S hybrid role. He has a strong, sturdy frame at 6’1″ and 190 pounds with underrated strength to take on blockers at the line of scrimmage. Jayden’s well-rounded skill set at LB helps him perform a number of duties, including rushing the QB, defending the run, and playing in coverage. He is very instinctive with a high football IQ that allows him to key in on the run or pass in a flash and will break on the ball immediately. Very physical at the point of contact— won’t hesitate to bring the boom. Look out for Jayden this offseason… he could be a summer riser!

I wasn’t able to find Hudl film of Boys Town’s Jayden Cook Jayden Cook 6'0" | 185 lbs | LB/RB Boys Town | 2028 MD , but after watching him in person last fall, it’s not hard to tell he will be a college prospect. We have Jayden listed as a DB, but he could also fit the role of a box safety/OLB with his willingness to drive downhill to defend the run and the ease with which he can drop into coverage. Cook is very rangy with sideline-to-sideline coverage and great closing speed when the ball is in the air. In coverage, Jayden does an excellent job using his ball skills to make a play on the pass. One underrated part of Cook’s game is his ability to apply pressure to opposing backfields with his explosive rushing ability when firing off the edge. Great tackler with solid size to chop down his opponents (6’0″, 180 pounds). Jayden ended his junior season with 37 tackles, five TFLs, two sacks, and an interception returned for a touchdown. Expect Jayden to play an even bigger role in 2025 with several key departures opening up opportunities.
