Cary Spires Cary Spires 6'3" | 220 lbs | EDGE St. Frances Academy | 2027 State MD is a speed rusher off the edge. He beats blockers off the line and gets around the edge with quickness. Spires closes on the quarterback fast and shows flashes of a high motor, fighting through blockers to finish plays. Spires currently holds offers from FAU and picked up an offer from Liberty University just last month in January. With more opportunities this upcoming season, expect opposing backfields to see a lot of Spires as he continues to show why he’s a top-10 EDGE in the state.

Spires comes into the MD rankings after transferring into St. Frances all the way from Texas. Making his debut as a top 50 player in the class and the #6 Edge defender, look for Cary to make his name known in the area this fall.

At 6’3″ 220lbs with a frame to get to 240+ easily, Cary fits the mold of a speed edge rusher in today’s game. Plays well as a wide 9 or stand up OLB. Knows how to take good angles to slip/dip by blockers, get under OLs arms & flatten down the line to the QB. Looks athletic one film but would like to see him improve his burst/explosiveness of the snap at times. Currently Cary has no offers to my knowledge, but feel that has to with many colleges in the area not knowing of him yet. Cary will be one to watch this upcoming season and could blow up in the fall/winter after some strong junior film.
