Prep Redzone attended the Battle at the Beach passing tournament at Edison High in Huntington Beach this past Saturday.

The event is the marquee passing tournament of the summer and some of the top programs in Southern California competed. Mission Viejo won the tournament for the second consecutive season despite missing some key players.

As a disclaimer, I'd like to point out that I did not get to get a good look at every team that competed, so some players who performed very well may be omitted from this list. I will have a notebook with general thoughts from the event later this evening.

Here is a link to my story of the top performers from the event.

Here are some quick thoughts from the event:

MISSION VIEJO

Mission Viejo was missing some key players but got valuable reps for some players who may come off the bench this season. Curtis was used a ton on routes in the flat and showed impressive speed for a guy his size.

Colin Burke was very good at corner along with Myles Lassiter.
