Santa Margarita defensive back Logan Hirou Logan Hirou Logan Hirou 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Santa Margarita | 2026 State CA announced his commitment to UCLA on Tuesday.

He was second on the team in tackles last season with 80 and added a forced fumble and three interceptions.

Hirou chose UCLA over Princeton, Cal and Utah among others who offered him. He is the eighth player from California in UCLA’s 2026 recruiting class and is the second defensive back.

Hirou is without a doubt one of the top safety prospects across the state of California and has the ideal length and build for the position in college. He is a rangy third level player that plays with tremendous natural instincts, a quick trigger in run support and is fluid in space while breaking to the ball quickly in man coverage. He shows he can run alleys, taking the proper angles to ball carriers and packs a punch at the point of attack when tackling with range and long speed. Overall, he is a very complete safety prospect that has been flying under the radar and is one of the top defensive players in the strongest league in the country.

He is a safety who is often in zone coverage and can cover a ton of the field. Hirou closes to the ball quickly when playing man coverage and is a big hitter in the run game and on underneath routes.

Princeton and Colorado State recently have offered Hirou.
