Santa Margarita quarterback Matthew Smith Matthew Smith 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Santa Margarita | 2027 CA announced his commitment to Vanderbilt on Monday.

Smith completed 69 percent of his passes for 168 yards per game with seven touchdowns in just six games for Villa Park last season after transferring from Loyola.

He also had offers from Princeton, Utah and San Jose State among others. Smith is the second player from California in Vanderbilt’s 2027 recruiting class and the first quarterback.
