Poyer had 54 tackles, 10 for a loss, seven sacks and a fumble recovery for St. John Bosco last season.

He also had offers from Cal, Michigan and Notre Dame among many others and has official visits set up at those three. Poyer is the seventh player from California in USC’s 2027 recruiting class and the first linebacker.

He is a great athlete with pass rush abilities and coverage downfield and is a violent tackler that can trigger fast and excels sideline to sideline. At 6’2″ 215, he has the ideal build for the position at the highest level of college football and is in line for a monster Senior year for Bosco.
