Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Orosco has put on a ton of weight over the past year and was a tough matchup during the one-on-one period. He has a good initial punch with his hands and does a good job driving offensive linemen back with his strength. Orosco has a nice bag of pass rush moves and still has good short-area quickness despite the added weight.

Orosco had himself another very nice off-season and should have some solid impact across the defensive front for the Braves in 2025. He is a well balance player with a heavy, strike, consistent edge setting abilities and has a variety of power rush moves in his toolbox. He shows he can play anywhere along the defensive front and is one of the more technically sound players across the region. He currently holds an offer from SDSU and should see other FBS/FCS schools come in after his Junior season comes to an end.

Orosco had a strong performance in the morning session, and was one of the more violent and physical edge rushers on the day. He is very technically sound with a variety of moves in his toolbox while able to win with both speed and power and does a good job using his length and leverage to keep blockers away from his chest when working off the edge. He plays with heavy hands, good leverage and can win with both primary and secondary moves while showing he is a fluid mover in space as well. Heading into his Junior season, he is extremely well-built and has a solid frame with a good floor at the next level. He should find his home as a 4-3 defensive end in college or possibly even kick inside. Currently, Orosco holds one offer from San Diego State, and should see others show interest as well through his Junior season.

Orosco was the MVP of the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase and had another strong showing on Sunday. Like Paseka, Orosco is better on the inside than off the edge and he told me he is getting more comfortable playing inside. He is good at getting that initial punch off the line and quickly throwing a move while the offensive lineman is off-balanced.

Orosco is a versatile defensive lineman that projects as a interior guy at the next level and can play both a 3-tech or on the edge for Bosco. He is a violent striker out of his stance that explodes through his hips and shows inside hand placement and a strong lockout at the point of attack. He does a good job at controlling his gap and is able to shed blocks quickly and collapse the pocket from the inside. Orosco is very technically sound off the ball and shows quick block recognition abilities, proper angles backside and is extremely powerful at the point of attack and can provide a variety of power rush moves while able to quickly reset the line of scrimmage against the run. He currently has a offer from San Diego State.

Orosco is explosive out of his stance and is excellent at getting the offensive lineman’s hands off of him. He gets up the field quickly and does a good job attacking the outside shoulder of the tackle. Orosco stood out and was unanimously the MVP of the defensive linemen.
He had a nice sophomore year for Bosco with 28 tackles, three for a loss with two pass deflections.

Orosco has had a big-time off-season and was recently offered by San Diego State early or last month during the spring evaluation period. He is a twitchy four-down defensive and that is already in elite pass rusher with a quick use of hands, natural bend off the edge and has the length to his frame to be able to pack on more weight over the next three years. A very technically sound pass rusher with a variety of moves and counter abilities in his toolbox, he should be one of the regions top edge players in his class. He was very impressive at the National Preps showcase two weeks ago and should have a monster Sophomore campaign for the Braves.
