Shaffer had 14 tackles, one for a loss and two interceptions for St. John Bosco last season.

He also had offers from Southern Miss, Central Michigan and New Mexico among others. Shaffer is the first player from California in Northern Arizona’s 2027 recruiting class.

The talented Freshmen could end up finding his home at running back for the rest of his career, and is already an extremely well built kid with a powerful lower half and elite open field speed for his age. He flashes terrific vision in tight windows, cutback abilities against flow and has outstanding contact balance and the ability to fight for extra yards after contact. He is tough to bring down in the hole as he shows good lateral movement and a initial burst into the clear with breakaway top end speed. A 10.8 100m kid already at 180 pounds, he was stellar on both sides of the ball as a frosh and should be one of the top players in his class as we head into the Fall across Southern California.
