announced his commitment to Harvard on Friday.
Franklin had 23 tackles with a pass deflection for St. John Bosco last season and was a top performer at the Prep Redzone Exposure Series in May. He has positional versatility and can play nickel, corner or safety.
He chose Harvard over Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV among others. Franklin told Prep Redzone that he hopes to graduate from Harvard in three years and use his remaining eligibility to play at a FBS school and pursue his NFL dream.
Franklin is the first player from California in Harvard’s 2026 recruiting class and one of two defensive backs.

Franklin fits the mold of a smooth, instinctive defensive back with good overall size for the position. The 5’11”, 175-pound frame is well-proportioned and suggests the quick-twitch athleticism required to stay in phase in man coverage. He has the burst and change-of-direction ability to close on intermediate routes and make plays in front of him. As a 2027 prospect, Franklin is at the perfect age to start separating himself on the recruiting trail. His presence at the Exposure Series gave coaches a live look at a player who projects as a potential multi-year contributor in a college secondary.

Franklin has been putting up good performances at camps like this for as long as I can remember and Sunday was no exception. He is a nickel who is physical but also smart in timing his pass break ups. Franklin has good control of his body and never bites on double moves.
