Fatu, a 6’1”, 180-pound safety, has that old-school enforcer vibe with modern range. In Orange County’s Empire League, he balled out as a freshman with multi-game highlights showing sideline-to-sideline pursuit, hard hits, and ball-hawking INTs. His GPA (3.5) and work ethic shine through in posts, and the offers are pouring in: ASU, Syracuse, UNC, Arizona, Oregon State, Cal Berkeley, Miami, UCLA, Colorado State, and UNLV. Pinned three-game tape reveals a high-IQ defender who reads QBs like a vet. From a scout’s lens, his instincts and closing burst make him a Power 5 lock—add some polish in coverage, and he’s a difference-maker at the next level.

Recent Offer: North Carolina
Notes: Fatu is one of the top young and up-coming freshman players across southern California and an elite safety prospect for Tustin. He already has the ideal starting tools for the next level with good size, closing speed and natural ball skills on the back end. Fatu should have a breakout second season and explode onto the scene this year.

Read EvaluationJordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Fatu checks in as the No. 5 overall prospect in the debut PRZ 2029 rankings. An instinctive, versatile safety, he’s capable of playing deep or rolling down into the slot without a drop in effectiveness. Shows strong key-diagnosis ability, quickly reading run vs. pass and reacting with confidence. Extremely physical in run support, triggering downhill with speed and arriving with force. Delivers violent contact at the point of attack, using leg drive and forward momentum to consistently finish ball carriers to the ground. Already holds 8 Division I offers, with his blend of instincts, toughness, and positional versatility giving him one of the highest ceilings in the class.
