Each week I will pick and break down seven of the top games in Southern California.

I bounced back from my worst week of the season with a 5-2 record last week.

We are in the final week of the regular season and we have a few league championship games in Southern California. Several other games have major playoff implications.

Here is a look at some of the best games this week:

ST. JOHN BOSCO VS. MATER DEI

St. John Bosco and Mater Dei have played each other for eight CIF championships in the last 12 years and this has developed into one of the more fun rivalries in the Southern Section. [player_tooltip player_id='1396184' first='Maliq' last='Allen'] ran for 136 yards with four touchdowns last week against Servite and [player_tooltip player_id='408739' first='Darren' last='Tubbs Jr'] has a tendency to show up in big games for the Braves. [player_tooltip player_id='1197597' first='Josiah' last='Poyer'] had his best game of the season against Servite and [player_tooltip player_id='2263620' first='Gary' last='Foster'] had a sack. [player_tooltip player_id='2065930' first='Prentice' last='Jones'] has emerged as a lockdown corner in a St. John Bosco defense that has battled injuries.

Mater Dei had a dominant rushing performance of its own last week when Asir Nembhard broke a school-record with 339 yards against Orange Lutheran. [player_tooltip player_id='1288075' first='Gavin' last='Honore'] had a long touchdown catch. The Monarchs are excellent on defense and it's tough to run the ball on them with [player_tooltip player_id='1197606' first='Ezekiel' last='Su'a'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1197270' first='Mike' last='Davis'] at linebacker. [player_tooltip player_id='1197325' first='Dailon' last='Clanton Jr.'] has five sacks in league play and [player_tooltip player_id='1515889' first='Isaiah' last='Danns'] has been good in pass coverage along with [player_tooltip player_id='1717686' first='Troy' last='Bishop'].

The pick: Mater Dei

https://twitter.com/teamfbseven/status/2115909662868680753?a=4RYe8ShryQQE8PtU_IIu0026amp;s=20

SAN JUAN HILLS VS. MISSION VIEJO

This game will decide the Alpha League championship. San Juan Hills shutout a shorthanded San Clemente offense last week but the Stallions moved the ball well on offense too. [player_tooltip player_id='1707773' first='Parker' last='Armstrong'] has played well in two starts at quarterback and most importantly, does not turn the ball over. [player_tooltip player_id='1639259' first='Luke' last='Frith'] was docile against San Clemente but has been a top receiver in Orange County this year. San Juan Hills has not turned the ball over in its last seven games. Cooper Chila has been good on both sides of the ball and [player_tooltip player_id='1698929' first='Maxwell' last='Porter'] can get after the quarterback.

Mission Viejo receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1197564' first='Jack' last='Junker'] has been playing running back as of late and has rushed for 424 yards with seven touchdowns in three league games. Running back Carson Vandermade is back this week so Junker returning to the receiving corps makes the Diablos' offense more explosive. [player_tooltip player_id='1291532' first='Brett' last='Burnor'] has played well at quarterback for Mission Viejo and [player_tooltip player_id='1382575' first='Luke' last='Karby'] is a matchup nightmare at tight end. [player_tooltip player_id='1621228' first='Jordan' last='Hicks'] will be matched up with Frith often in this one and may be the best junior cornerback in the area.

The pick: Mission Viejo

https://twitter.com/mikehuntley63/status/2113870802164809786?a=cOKtN9tOW1TINDM5qEMu0026amp;s=20

BISHOP AMAT VS. SIERRA CANYON

Sierra Canyon has been rolling through the Mission League and has a league championship game against a Bishop Amat team that has only lost to JSerra this season. The Trailblazers have outscored their league opponents 203-6. [player_tooltip player_id='2252135' first='Demarco' last='Hernandez'] throws for 168 yards per game with 15 touchdowns and has five rushing touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='584471' first='Jaxsen' last='Stokes'] has eight rushing touchdowns and [player_tooltip player_id='2263569' first='Micah' last='Slade'] has been heating up at receiver. Sierra Canyon's defense may be the best unit in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='1197327' first='Kasi' last='Currie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='958763' first='Marcus' last='Fakatou'] have been dominant on the defensive front and [player_tooltip player_id='1611209' first='Faruq' last='Muhammad'] has been racking up tackles. Amat will want to throw the ball but [player_tooltip player_id='596193' first='Myles' last='Baker'] has been dominant in the secondary along with Jett Davis and Damion Garrison.

Bishop Amat's offense is much better when Domenico Doran is playing quarterback and he is healthy now. [player_tooltip player_id='2230072' first='Jaiden' last='Combal'] has been a sneaky top receiver and Justin Clinton has ran the ball well, but may struggle in this game. [player_tooltip player_id='1621259' first='Matthew' last='Blalock'] leads Amat's defense with 63 tackles and 14 for a loss. [player_tooltip player_id='2067711' first='Kj' last='Paea'] has 10.5 sacks with two forced fumbles. Bishop Amat hasn't forced a ton of turnovers this year and will need to force some to stay in this game.

The pick: Sierra Canyon

https://twitter.com/pollonpreps/status/2113851598187397283?a=B_5N06buEGLFT8GlUbUu0026amp;s=20

GRANITE HILLS VS. Granite Hills has won four consecutive games and [player_tooltip player_id='691923' first='Zachary' last='Benitez'] has 2,122 yards with 28 touchdowns and just six interceptions. [player_tooltip player_id='2106846' first='Courtney' last='Miller-Thompson'] has been a top receiver in San Diego with 879 yards and 15 touchdowns. Cayden Phillips leads the defense with 60 tackles and 2.5 sacks. [player_tooltip player_id='2466284' first='Ty' last='Spencer'] had three interceptions last week against San Jacinto and five on the season.

Helix has won four in a row and has scored at least 42 points in each of its last four games. [player_tooltip player_id='1197608' first='Caden' last='Thompson'] has thrown for 158 yards per game with 17 touchdowns this season. Jacob Andrew-Johnson and [player_tooltip player_id='797114' first='Jeremy' last='Robinson'] are his top targets. [player_tooltip player_id='1197328' first='Jeremy' last='Davis'] is the top linebacker in San Diego and the duo of [player_tooltip player_id='2467546' first='Denzel' last='Griffin'] and Diego Cano-Robinson can get after the quarterback.

The pick: Granite Hills

https://twitter.com/ZacharyBenitez3/status/2107960578870485055?a=NHFgwzmATvw0ArFekfwu0026amp;s=20

LINCOLN VS. CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC

This game will decide the Western League championship. Lincoln was getting dominated early in the season against a tough schedule but has won three games in a row. Mount Miguel transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2249786' first='Andre' last='Jackson'] has thrown 15 touchdowns this season and splits reps with [player_tooltip player_id='1632745' first='Xavier' last='Cruz'], who is a dual threat guy. [player_tooltip player_id='2468290' first='Seth' last='Fanua'] has 123 tackles with 20 for a loss and Ryan George has 103 tackles. [player_tooltip player_id='2451507' first='Davon' last='Dunn'] has three interceptions and is one of the top freshmen in San Diego.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284695' first='Koa' last='Smith-Mayall'] has been very good for Cathedral Catholic at quarterback this season. [player_tooltip player_id='2106842' first='Isaac' last='Cook'] is his top target with 774 yards and 10 touchdowns. Willie Flores has been the top running back and USC commit [player_tooltip player_id='1197204' first='Honor' last='Faalave'] has been mostly playing defense. Kevin Clark leads Cathedral Catholic in tackles and [player_tooltip player_id='2231350' first='Ryder' last='Molchanoff'] has 14.5 sacks.

The pick: Cathedral Catholic

https://twitter.com/Koa_SmithMayall/status/2110436980681302426?a=2WmWH6i69bcQz16ck4Eu0026amp;s=20

TRABUCO HILLS VS. Trabuco Hills has been rolling offensively and its two losses are to a good St. Bonaventure team and an El Modena team that should be undefeated. [player_tooltip player_id='2456908' first='Jackson' last='Verplancke'] has thrown for 204 yards per game with 22 touchdowns, just two interceptions and seven rushing touchdowns. Luke Hoffman has 915 yards rushing with eight touchdowns. Clark Conley hasn't been as dominant as last season but still leads the team in receiving. [player_tooltip player_id='1611401' first='Will' last='Fredericksen'] leads the Lions in rushing. JSerra's linebackers have played pretty well, particularly [player_tooltip player_id='1619039' first='Dylan' last='Fenn'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1702658' first='Braylin' last='Spencer']. UCLA commit [player_tooltip player_id='2106839' first='Godschoice' last='Eboigbodin'] has five sacks and [player_tooltip player_id='1607174' first='Dylan' last='Brown'] has three interceptions.

Servite is led by quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1205702' first='Gino' last='Wang'], who was the starter at JSerra last season. Parker Coven has been leading the rushing attack lately and [player_tooltip player_id='2067678' first='Mataua' last='Niumata'] leads the receiving corps. Servite has a lot of injuries on offense but I suspect they will do everything they can to win this one and avoid a last place finish in league. I think this is a get right game for JSerra's defense.

The pick: JSerra

https://twitter.com/JSerraAthletics/status/2115922579001413856?a=CMGOVMvROq_eZvguY0ku0026amp;s=20

HUNTLEY'S RECORD: 47-22

[player_tooltip player_id='1396184' first='Maliq' last='Allen'] ran for 136 yards with four touchdowns last week against Servite and [player_tooltip player_id='408739' first='Darren' last='Tubbs Jr'] has a tendency to show up in big games for the Braves.
