Benitez completed 68 percent of his passes for 4009 yards with 42 touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns for a Granite Hills team that won the Division 1 championship.
He is one of the most underrecruited quarterbacks in the state and he should have more offers than he does. Benitez was a top 10 performer in my opinion at the Elite 11 Regional recently and his accuracy has improved greatly since his freshman year. He drives the ball down the field with ease and he has a nice frame. Benitez has offers from Nevada, Northern Arizona and Georgia State among others.

Benitez added a fourth D-I offer from Nevada in late January. PRZ CA’s second-ranked QB in the 2027 class has proven to be one of the elite passers in the state over the past few seasons with his high-level accuracy, timing, and pocket management and will be a fourth-year starter in the fall. He was among the most productive passers in California last season throwing for 4,000 yards and 42 TDs while leading Granite Hills to a third straight section title in 2025. Benitez holds other offers from San Diego St., UNLV, and Northern Arizona.

Prep Redzone gave Benitez his first MVP after his freshman season at Granite Hills and it’s remarkable to see how he’s grown. Benitez had gotten significantly bigger and stronger each offseason and had one of the more impressive frames of the day. He has always had arm talent but his accuracy has improved and he was delivering strikes throughout the day. It’s hard to think of a more under-recruited quarterback in recent memory and major schools should be looking in his direction.

He has one of the best arms in the 2027 class and can fit the ball into tight windows. This is his third consecutive CIF championship as the starting quarterback for Granite Hills.

The Granite Hills product had a very good session throwing and showed why he is one of the top 2027 signal callers across Southern California. He has solid mechanics and throw power both in the pocket and on the run and showed he could get the ball out quickly with a snappy release and good velocity over the top. He is a sneaky good athlete in the pocket and shows he can quickly process/make decisions and navigate accordingly to avoid pressure and step up in traffic. He currently holds two offers from UNLV and the hometown San Diego State and should see his stock continue to rise through the summer.

Benitez completed 65 percent of his passes for 2410 yards with 27 touchdowns and led Granite Hills to its third consecutive CIF championship.
He had a strong showing at the Elite 11 Regional camp in March and flashed a strong arm and good athleticism. I saw Benitez in the Regional championship game against Edison. He struggled in that game against a great Edison defense, but still showed he has the arm strength to make difficult throws that very few quarterbacks in the class can make.
