Sierra Canyon defensive end Marcus Fakatou Marcus Fakatou 6'7" | 275 lbs | DL Sierra Canyon School | 2027 State CA announced his commitment to Ohio State on Monday.

Fakatou had 69 tackles, 17 for a loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and eight blocked field goals for Orange Lutheran as a sophomore last season. He has since reclassified to the 2027 class and transferred to Sierra Canyon.

Fakatou also had offers from Georgia, Texas, Alabama and many others. He is one of two players from California in Ohio State’s 2027 recruiting class and one of four defensive linemen.

Fakatou had previously said he wanted to leave the West region but a few schools in the area are making him rethink that decision a bit. He mentioned he really enjoyed his visit to Oregon and USC has been making a push for him lately. Fakatou said USC is definitely in his top six and he has plans to visit the Trojans in May.

Fakatou was the highest-profile player at the event and drew a big crowd of reporters after the camp. He was clearly the best athlete of the defensive linemen during the individual drills and tested well. Fakatou took on the top offensive linemen during the one-on-one period and still won the majority of his reps.

Shows projectable movement skills for his size, allowing him to threaten edges, collapse pockets, and impact plays beyond his initial gap. Length consistently shows up in run defense and as a pass rusher, where he affects throwing lanes and is maintains separation from blockers. Still scratching the surface from a developmental standpoint, but the ceiling is extremely high. A physically gifted defensive lineman with prototype size with 33 offers to date.
