Cloutier returned to his home roots in Orange County and transferred to JSerra from North Crowley of Texas.

He threw for 2058 yards with 21 touchdowns as a junior for a very good North Crowley team last season. Cloutier spent his first two seasons at Santa Margarita and made a brief stop at Inglewood before landing at North Crowley. He is the favorite to be the starter for JSerra this season which is under a new coaching staff.

In his debut as the starting quarterback, transfer Cloutier from Inglewood, California, showed flashes of why he won the job. The lefty threw for 60 yards and had a 31-yard run in the season-opening loss to Mission Viejo.

There were a lot of solid left-handed quarterbacks but Cloutier consistently was throwing good balls and the ball jumps out of his hand nicely.

His footwork looked solid in the individual drills and he was getting the ball out on time with the receivers.
