Each week I will pick and break down seven of the top games in Southern California.

I had another strong week last week going 6-1 for the third consecutive week.

Here is a look at some of the best games this week:

INGLEWOOD VS. PALOS VERDES

Inglewood is 6-1 with its lone loss coming to Westlake of Texas. The Sentinels ran the ball for 361 yards in a 26-21 win over Mira Costa last week with Semaj Welch leading the team with 165 yards. [player_tooltip player_id='2147864' first='Jordan' last='Williams'] leads Inglewood with 69 tackles and five sacks and Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='668795' first='Elija' last='Harmon'] has 14 tackles for a loss. Palos Verdes' defense has been outstanding recently allowing 10 total points in its last three games. Nevada commit [player_tooltip player_id='709444' first='Ryan' last='Rakowski'] is very efficient and completed 73 percent of his passes for 210 yards with 10 touchdowns this season. [player_tooltip player_id='1621252' first='Weston' last='Reis'] can stop the run with 61 tackles and may be very busy against Inglewood's running game.

CAPISTRANO VALLEY VS. CREAN LUTHERAN

Capo Valley is one of the few remaining undefeated teams in Orange County. [player_tooltip player_id='1197373' first='Talon' last='Spencer'] is a great dual threat quarterback and is an All-County candidate with 13 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='1279271' first='Colin' last='Hooper'] is a big tight end target for Spencer who is a good defensive player as well. [player_tooltip player_id='2263602' first='Cade' last='Epstein'] had a big game last week against La Habra defensively. Crean Lutheran shut down Tustin's offense in a 21-7 win last week. [player_tooltip player_id='2098782' first='Nasir' last='Walker'] had 12 tackles and the Saints had six sacks. [player_tooltip player_id='1199093' first='Ahmeer' last='Williamson'] is a leading tackler for Crean Lutheran and Eli Taula leads the team in sacks. Cal Poly commit [player_tooltip player_id='1197522' first='Caleb' last='Bey'] Jr. ran for 141 yards with three touchdowns. Crean Lutheran's head coach is Rick Curtis and Capo Valley's head coach is Sean Curtis, Rick's son.

The pick: Crean Lutheran

NORCO VS. CHAPARRAL

Chaparral looks like a potential top 15 team in the Southern Section again with Cal commit [player_tooltip player_id='1611225' first='Dane' last='Weber'] back at quarterback from a thumb injury. Weber threw for 200 yards with three touchdowns and ran for 120 with a touchdown last week in his season-debut against Murrieta Valley. Michael "Kiko" Farinas had 130 yards receiving with a touchdown and ran for a long touchdown. Miami commit [player_tooltip player_id='1611263' first='Eli' last='Woodard'] had a big game for Chaparral against Norco last season. Norco can throw the ball well too with [player_tooltip player_id='1197574' first='Julian' last='Medina'] who has completed 80 percent of his passes for 270 yards per game with 17 touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='1197386' first='Blake' last='Wong'] returned from injury last week for Norco in a win over Murrieta Mesa. I think Chaparral's offense is too much for Norco in this one.

The pick: Chaparral

HUNTINGTON BEACH VS. DANA HILLS

This game features two of the best passing offenses in Orange County and the game may decide the Delta League winner. Ohio State commit [player_tooltip player_id='415341' first='Brady' last='Edmunds'] has completed 70 percent of his passes for 225 yards with 15 touchdowns and just three interceptions for Huntington Beach. [player_tooltip player_id='485966' first='Skylar' last='Robinson'] leads the Oilers in receiving and [player_tooltip player_id='1626424' first='Dylin' last='Bruce'] is a top two-way player in the county. [player_tooltip player_id='2254923' first='Carter' last='Anderson'] has thrown for 212 yards per game with 18 touchdowns and two interceptions for Dana Hills. Jack Norman leads the Dolphins in receiving with eight touchdowns and Mason Valles has five touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='2205795' first='Davis' last='Howes'] is a sophomore receiver I'm high on and I like Dana Hills' offensive line led by [player_tooltip player_id='2071617' first='Logan' last='Day']. Both teams are 6-0 and had ugly wins last week.

The pick: Dana Hills

MATER DEI VS. JSERRA

Mater Dei is seeking to avoid its first three-game losing streak since 2011. The Monarchs' defense was outstanding in a 14-7 loss to Santa Margarita last week. [player_tooltip player_id='1197383' first='Mata' last='Uiagalelei'] had a big game defensively and the linebacker trio of [player_tooltip player_id='1197606' first='Ezekiel' last='Su'a'], [player_tooltip player_id='1197270' first='Mike' last='Davis'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1197325' first='Dailon' last='Clanton Jr.'] can stop JSerra's dual threat quarterback. Mater Dei's offense has struggled mightily but shows life when freshman quarterback Paytyn Guess is under center. [player_tooltip player_id='1408794' first='Asir' last='Nembhard'] is a top playmaker from the running back spot and we should see some [player_tooltip player_id='2066025' first='Mark' last='Allen'] action. JSerra couldn't overcome a bad first half against St. John Bosco last week. [player_tooltip player_id='1284700' first='Hayes' last='Cloutier'] threw for 230 yards with a pair of touchdowns and [player_tooltip player_id='959196' first='Luca' last='Deleon'] had a big touchdown catch. JSerra's defense can get into the backfield with [player_tooltip player_id='2106839' first='Godschoice' last='Eboigbodin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1619039' first='Dylan' last='Fenn'] has been very good recently. This should be a close, low-scoring game but I think Mater Dei can run the ball here.

MISSION HILLS VS. CARLSBAD

These are the top two teams in San Diego right now. Mission Hills is coming off a 14-0 win over La Costa Canyon and held the Mavericks to under 250 yards of offense. Minnesota commit [player_tooltip player_id='1197560' first='Furian' last='Inferrera'] has been very good at quarterback all season with receivers Ryan MacKenzie and [player_tooltip player_id='1717679' first='Brayden' last='Roberson']. Carlsbad is 6-0 and is coming off a 30-7 win over Torrey Pines. [player_tooltip player_id='1197620' first='Darian' last='Webb'] has been the top running back in San Diego this season and [player_tooltip player_id='1566773' first='Antonio' last='D'Alessandro'] runs the offense well at quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id='2263191' first='Trent' last='Kellas'] is one of the better front seven defenders in the county. I think Mission Hills is too banged up offensively, particularly at running back, to keep pace in this one.

The pick: Carlsbad

ORANGE LUTHERAN VS. ST. JOHN BOSCO

St. John Bosco has had this game circled on the calendar after suffering an upset loss to Orange Lutheran in the first round of the Division 1 playoffs last season. The Braves have played very well on offense the last three games. [player_tooltip player_id='1396184' first='Maliq' last='Allen'] ran for 180 yards with three touchdowns for the Braves last week against JSerra and [player_tooltip player_id='959174' first='Koa' last='Malau'ulu'] has been playing well at quarterback. Servite transfer [player_tooltip player_id='958796' first='Elisha' last='Mueller'] made his debut after the sit-out period at tackle and makes a big difference in the Braves' offense. [player_tooltip player_id='1197526' first='Ethan' last='Coach'] has been great at stopping the run and forced a fumble against JSerra last week.

Orange Lutheran dominated Servite last week behind [player_tooltip player_id='1588182' first='Ryan' last='Christianson'] running for four touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='1197615' first='Reagan' last='Toki'] threw for 256 yards with three touchdowns. Orange Lutheran has the secondary to slow down Bosco's passing game and maybe force a turnover, but I think Bosco can run the ball well in this game.
