Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Nembhard ran for 185 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns as a freshman for Mater Dei last season.
He navigates traffic well at the first two levels and is a twitchy athlete with serious burst. Nembhard has quick feet and can start and stop very well to avoid tacklers. He’s a downhill runner and has the frame to keep adding muscle without sacrificing his speed. Nembhard has offers from Oregon and Colorado State. The duo of Nembhard and Allen is the best class of 2029 rushing combo in the state and is the backfield of the future for Mater Dei.

The talented freshman rusher is one of the top backs in this class across the state and was recently offered by Oregon and should see a slew of other P4 offers come in this off-season. He has elite start/stop abilities in traffic, a quick initial burst and shows outstanding contact balance and leg drive through contact with short area twitch and lateral agility in the hole and is very tough to take down in the open field. He also flashes quick feet through the hole and is a natural ball carrier with forward lean and stays behind his pads and stays patient behind his blocks, has cutback abilities and runs hard in-between the tackles looking for contact. Nembhard is an elite talent that should explode onto the scene this off-season and be fielding offers soon.

Asir is a PROBLEM! The fact that he doesn’t have offers in the bag is shocking. This will change very soon I’m sure. Not only does Asir look the part in and out of pads, his skill set is elite at this age. I’ve seen enough to know he can do it all, LITERALLY. He is definitely one of the more complete backs ready for high school NOW. Asir has contact balance to not just finish runs, but will take it to the house if you don’t wrap him up with 5 yards past the L.O.S. Great speed and agility. Hands and not afraid to block. With stiff, spin, hurdle, or do whatever it takes to keep the chains moving or get into the end zone. One of my favs in this class.
