Hamby will be a three-year starter for Mater Dei and played well last season before suffering a season-ending injury in mid September . He has a high-level frame with a violent initial punch and is explosive out of his stance. Hamby moves well for a guy as big as he is and has the strength to finish blocks down the field and get vertical. He has an offer from UNLV and an official visit there and I expect his recruitment to pick up a bit by the end of the season.

Hamby is a massive framed prospect that should fit nicely inside in college and has a violent punch, strong base within his block progression and a true road grader inside the tackles when working downhill. He does move well for his size and explodes out of his stance to create immediate vertical push and has some finish abilities downfield as well. He has the frame and length to continue transforming his build at the college level and he does have some nice upside and a high ceiling due to his length and athletic mold/solid movement for his size. He should have a breakout senior season for the Monarch’s and his mis-season tape will be crucial in his process.

Hamby is a strong guy who excels in the run game. He drives his feet through contact and buries defenders into the ground. As a pass blocker, he does an equally good job blocking speedy rushers or power moves. He has quick feet, is a natural bender and can mirror the quick rushers. Hamby has an offer from UNLV.

Hamby started meaningful games for Mater Dei at tackle this season. He’s a big guy who can overpower people in the run game and is violent with his hands. Hamby has pretty quick feet as a pass blocker for a guy of his size, is a natural bender and does a good job staying in front of the speedy edge rushers.
