Mailangi was a nightmare matchup for many of the defensive linemen on Sunday and they all had a hard time driving him back. He never gives up too much ground and does a great job keeping his hips square to the line of scrimmage. Mailangi is great at mirroring the defensive linemen with his footwork and never getting caught leaning. His feet are remarkably quick for a guy pushing 350 pounds and I did not see him lose a rep during the 1-on-1 period.

Mailangi is excellent on film and excellent in camp settings. He’s the strongest offensive lineman in the class and is a violent finisher who moves pretty well for a guy his size. Mailangi pushes people around in the run game and does a good job gaining leverage on the defender. He was my offensive line MVP at the Under Armour Next camp. At that camp he had the strongest initial punch, kept his hips square to the line of scrimmage and replaced his hands well. He has offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and USC among others.

Mailangi could have easily been MVP of the group. He’s strong, leverages his weight very well and never gives up too much ground. His hips are always square to the line of scrimmage and has a strong initial punch. In the rare case that someone got their arms extended on him, he replaced his hands well and won nearly all his reps in the one-on-one period.

Mailangi is the best interior offensive lineman I saw this season and he is a powerful run blocker. In a camp setting, he has the quick feet to stay in front of defenders and the strength to not give up much ground.

Mater Dei’s offensive line played well as a unit, but Mailangi played the best in the plays I watched the line closely. His pass protection is excellent and he was the lineman most consistently getting a push in the run game.
