Uiagalelei had 28 tackles, 6.5 for a loss, three sacks and two pass deflections last season for Mater Dei and earned All-Trinity League honors.
He also had offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Miami and UCLA among others. Uiagalelei is the third player from California in Washington’s 2027 recruiting class.

Matamatagi is the younger brother of former Mater Dei defensive lineman Ta’ita’i Uiagalelei who now is at Arizona.
He is long and athletic as an edge rusher and good athlete. He has a frame to add muscle which he definitely will over the next two years.
