Allen is another big and very physical back from Mater Dei that gets behind his pads with natural forward lean and contact balance and can get north and south quickly bouncing off tackles and gaining the tough yards inside. He has quick feet through the hole, shows start/stop abilities and can make defenders miss with some short area agility and contact balance when moving through the first two levels. He already has a very strong build and will only continue to pack on weight and fits the mold of a true power back with some plus athletic traits for his size heading into his sophomore season.
Allen only had 14 carries in three games in a crowded Mater Dei backfield as a freshman, but he was very impressive at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase in January.
He has the build and athleticism of an upperclassman and reminded me of a recent Mater Dei running back who now plays at Oregon. Allen is smooth in his movements and can be a bruiser when the pads come on. He already has offers from Oregon, Arizona and USC and with Mater Dei’s top three rushers from last season being gone, Allen could get a lot of carries this season.
Allen was the clear MVP of the running back group with the D-I skill and upside he showed throughout the camp. The 5’11″/205 freshman out of Mater Dei draws comparisons to former Monarchs’ standout RB and current Oregon Duck, Jordon Davison, with the rare combination of size, physicality, and athleticism he possesses at his young age. He carries a physical build, showed advanced receiving skillset in the 1v1 route period, and got time as a freshman last season. Allen just picked up an offer from Oregon this month and was offered by USC last summer as an eighth grader, he has the potential to develop into one of the top RBs in the state over the coming seasons.
Allen is a big freshman from Mater Dei who reminded scouts of a young Jordon Davison, a former Mater Dei running back who is now at Oregon. He has a unique combination of size and athleticism for his age.
Allen showed good route running ability and strong hands for a running back during the 1-on-1 period. He was recently offered by Oregon and was offered by USC as an eighth grader.
