Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Hergott played his first two high school seasons at Mater Dei but just transferred to Faith Lutheran in Vegas.
He does a nice job keeping his hips square to the line of scrimmage in pass protection and he’s a tough guy to move back. Hergott didn’t get a ton of varsity playing time last season, but he has a good frame for an interior offensive lineman. He had a solid showing at a Prep Redzone Showcase last offseason and it will be interesting to see how he does in Nevada.

Hergott’s size stood out, especially for a class of 2028 player. He showed some strength during the one-on-one period and once he is more consistent with his initial punch and hands, that strength will be dangerous. Hergott is a little stiff in his movements but he is growing into his body and the fluidity could develop with more time. The size stands out for a freshman and it will be interesting to see him develop.

– Played on 13U Las Vegas All-Stars at Nationals this year and led them to a tournament championship.
– Extremely smart kid that led the offensive line group by playing Center, literally led warmups and led by example.
– Smart kid, called out the blocking schemes. Also a talented baseball player, will be at St. John Bosco in So. Cal, come the fall.

– If I’m starting an offensive line out of the 2028 prospects I saw at AYF Nationals, I’d be hard-pressed to not start with Hergott
– Smart, hard-working, tough and leadership skills through the roof. As the starting center on the 13U Las Vegas All-Stars, he was literally a coach on the field
– In addition to being an elite run-blocker on the gridiron, he’s also a gifted baseball player. So much so, that the Nevada-native will be off to famed St. John Bosco in California for high school
