Hooper is still awaiting his first college offer and is without a doubt a FCS+ talent with tons of upside at the next level. He has a lean but strong frame, huge catch radius and strong hands when making contested catches and can stretch the field while chunking yards and getting behind safeties in the clear. Hooper is a big bodied catcher that can box out smaller defenders, win on 50/50 balls and has a good combination of downfield speed to break away in the open field and has some twitch and sinks his hips in and out of his breaks within his routes. Look for plenty of Big Sky schools to come in late and offer as he will be one of the top tight ends left available across California.

Hooper led Capo Valley in receiving last season with 411 yards on 29 catches with seven touchdowns as a junior last season.
He’s a pretty versatile tight end who is too fast for linebackers to cover in man coverage and too physical for a lot of defensive backs to cover. Hooper is the guy Capo goes to on hot routes and is a long strider who can make some plays after the catch. He uses his length to win 50/50 balls with solid body control near the sidelines. Hooper is a tight end who can block and does a good job getting to the outside of the defender on outside run plays. Northern Arizona has shown interest and he is visiting Flagstaff during spring practice.

The Capistrano Valley prospect is another player that is a no-brainer FBS kid heading into his Junior season. He has the ideal length and frame for the next level and has a strong build and powerful lower half and is a long strider that chunks yardage vertically and has a huge catch radius downfield/is extremely physical with the ball in his hands. He shows good wiggle after the catch and can force defenders to take poor angles in the open field and does a good job not getting rerouted and is a big target across the middle. He checks into our rankings update as a top 10 player at the position and could definitely see that ranking rise over the next 12 months.

Hooper has a slighter build at this point in his career, but plays like he is 200+ pounds near the line of scrimmage. He is a willing blocker that can bury defenders off the ball and shows a quick first step into his progression with a inside strike and tremendous strength for his size. He is a twitchy route runner that can get downfield quickly and stretch over the top of safeties while showing good tracking abilities, off-platform catches and body control when going up and getting 50/50 balls. Hooper has natural hands and attacks the ball in the air while using his catch radius to his advantage in the red-zone. As his longer frame continues to develop and fill out, he should be a no brainer FCS+ caliber tight end prospect by the time his prep career comes to a close and he fully grows and develops physically.
