Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Fenn is one of the more under-recruited kids across all of southern California, and is a very balanced and explosive outside linebacker that can play off the ball or come up and rush the passer off the edge. He has a explosive first step, quick use of hands and fluid hips at the top of his rush and collapses the pocket quickly with closing speed and backside pursuit. Fenn shows he can play with violent hands, tackles well in space and can cover downfield with good change of direction and lateral movement over the top. Recently Fenn picked up an offer from San Diego State a couple months back and should see other FBS/FCS+ schools come in soon.

Fenn was third on JSerra in tackles last season with 57, had 5.5 for a loss, two sacks and a forced fumble which earned him Second Team All-Trinity League honors.
He’s a lengthy edge rusher who can be a traditional outside linebacker as well. Fenn has good speed off the edge, has quick hands to prevent tackles from getting their arms extended on him and is a natural bender. When lining up as a traditional outside backer, he isn’t afraid to mix it up in the middle and does a nice job dodging offensive lineman at the second level. San Diego State has offered him and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him lead JSerra in tackles next season.

Fenn is one of the more under the radar prospects across the region and is a true OLB/edge prospect with the right length and frame for the next level with room to pack on weight to his longer frame. He is explosive off the edge, triggers quickly and has a quick use of hands at the POA with bend and a variety of speed/power rush moves at his disposal. He does a nice job using his length to keep blockers off his chest, flipping his hips at the top of his rush and has solid closing speed backside in pursuit while able to come up and set the edge/bang inside the box as well. Fenn is another prospect that will draw plenty of FCS interest next year and is a key name to note in the trinity league at the linebacker position.

Fenn had 43 tackles with a fumble recovery as a sophomore for JSerra last season.
He’s a versatile linebacker who can play inside or off the edge. Fenn reads the offense pretty well and has pretty good lateral quickness. When getting into the backfield, he does a good job dipping the shoulder to evade blockers and has a motor.
Fenn won MVP honors at the Cal camp in June. He’s a high-upside guy who should be getting some offers soon.
