The defensive back who is committed to Cal has become a veteran leader of the Poly secondary now as a senior. He made a key late play in Friday’s game to help secure the victory. Jackson battled with Colorado State tight end commit Jude Nelson Jude Nelson 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE Millikan | 2026 State CA for a ball in the end zone on a 2-point conversion and came up with the breakup on the play. It preserved a 24-22 lead for the Jackrabbits and summarized the night for Jackson well. He is a tough defensive back who is versatile as well with his ability to defend different positions.

Last week, Jackson picked up offers from Northern Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.

He is the third player from California in Cal’s 2026 recruiting class and the second defensive back.

Long Beach Poly defensive back Deon Jackson Deon Jackson Deon Jackson 5'10" | 165 lbs | DB Long Beach Poly | 2026 State CA picked up offers from Northern Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada this week.

Jackson also met with Washington defensive backs coach John Richardson according to his Twitter account and plans on attending its junior day.

The trio of schools joins many others that have offered Jackson, including Cal and Washington State among others.

Jackson is on the smaller side but he gets out of his breaks well and closes on the ball quickly.

I saw multiple reps where he was defending underneath routes and he closed to the ball quick enough to deflect passes that were automatic completions against some other defensive backs.
