The Long Beach Poly product has the ideal length, frame and twitch for the 4-3 defensive end position in college, and is very technically sound on tape. He explodes off the ball and is a violent edge setter with strong hands, initial punch and creates immediate knock-back outside. He shows he can win with inside moves and twitch and collapses the pocket quickly with re-direct abilities and change of direction. He is stout against the run with heavy hands and a quick lockout, while also showing he can beat tackles with speed inside and is very disruptive from the edge but can also kick inside when needed. Heading into his Senior season, he is one of the top under-recruited edge players in the state.

Tamasoa earned All-Moore League honors last season. He is a versatile defender who can come off the edge or line up inside as a 3-technique.

At 6’3” 265 lbs. Tamasoa projects as an interior linemen at the college level but has the versatility and athleticism to play the edge. Strong frame with room to add weight without sacrificing his mobility. Gains quick penetration with excellent initial quickness and an explosive first step out of his stance. Flashes the lateral agility and short area speed to redirect and chase backside and downfield. Excels as a pass rusher that can use his bend and quickness to work around blockers and collapse the pocket. Good technical ability and fundamentals showing he can hold the edge and use his hands to efficiently shed blockers to free himself up. Has 10.5 TFL so far this season and should see his recruitment on the rise entering the offseason.

Tamasoa provides great position versatility along the defensive front, and can play either out in space on the edge, or kick inside from the 3-5 tech. He is a very technically sound player that can hold the edge, lock out blockers with inside hand leverage and can quickly get off blocks and create immediate knock-back from both his interior and edge position. In pass rush situations, he is a natural bender with active hands at the POA and can beat double teams/reach blocks with ease. He is a no brainer next level player that should find FBS schools coming his way this Fall/Spring and he has plenty of untapped potential.
